Terms and Conditions

EbikeRide.co.uk

Please read the following carefully before booking.

Proof of Identification

The lead hirer must provide proof of identification upon collection of the e-bikes. This includes a photo ID (such as a passport or driving license) and proof of address. EbikeRide reserves the right to refuse hire to individuals who cannot provide this.

Payment and Security Deposit

As the hirer, you acknowledge financial responsibility for any loss, theft, or damage to bikes and accessories hired under this agreement, including damage caused by excessive dirt or sand.

The Damage Deposit must be paid before the hire commences. This deposit is held against any potential loss, damage, or excess time, but will otherwise be refunded. The Damage Deposit will not be returned if the Rented Item(s) are returned late without prior notice. If the Rented Item(s) are not returned to EbikeRide at the agreed location within the hire period, an additional pro-rata charge will be applied.

If they are not returned in a satisfactory condition, EbikeRide reserves the right to charge your card for repairs or replacements.

Safety and Security

The hirer is responsible for all riders in their party. You must inspect the bikes and accessories and confirm they are in safe, satisfactory condition. By hiring from EbikeRide, you acknowledge the following:

  • All riders of e-bikes must be 14 years or older. It is illegal for anyone under this age to ride an electric bike.
  • Riders under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Cycling involves an inherent risk, and all riders use EbikeRide's bikes and accessories at their own risk. EbikeRide will not be held responsible for injury to riders, third parties, or damage to personal property during the hire period.

Helmets, locks, and optional panniers are provided for each hire and remain EbikeRide's property. We recommend wearing helmets at all times. By signing the hire agreement, you accept full responsibility for any accidents, injuries, or fatalities.

EbikeRide does not provide personal accident insurance.

Cycling Manner

You and your party agree to cycle sensibly and with respect for others and the natural environment. Riders must follow the Highway Code, especially the "Rules for cyclists." Pedestrians have priority on shared walkways, and cycling restrictions on the seafront promenades must be followed. Any dangerous or discourteous riding may result in repossession of bikes without a refund.

Bikes hired from EbikeRide are only suitable for roads and cycle paths. Riding off-road or on the beach is allowed where permitted.

Overnight Hire

If bikes are hired overnight, they must be stored in a locked building. You are responsible for ensuring the bikes and accessories remain safe from theft, loss, or damage during this period. Bikes must be locked to an immovable object when not in use.

Late and Early Returns

All bikes and accessories must be returned within the specified hire period unless agreed otherwise. Late returns will incur a charge of £10 per half-hour per bike. Early returns do not qualify for refunds, and no refunds will be issued for cancellations, including for adverse weather conditions.

Insurance

EbikeRide strongly recommends that you have your own public liability insurance in place, as this is not provided by EbikeRide.

Personal Health

By hiring from EbikeRide, you declare that everyone in your party is in good health and that their eyesight meets the standards of a driving test. No rider should have a medical condition or disability that could impair their ability to safely control the bike.

Alcohol, Drugs, and Solvents

Riders are not permitted to use EbikeRide's bikes or accessories under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or solvents. Failure to comply will result in immediate confiscation of the bikes, with no refund or compensation.

Right to Refuse Hire

EbikeRide reserves the right to refuse bike hire to any individual or group.

Governing Law

This agreement is governed by English Law. If any part of this agreement is deemed unenforceable, the remainder will remain in effect.
